Korean style ribs. Need I say more??? 걸구네 왕 곱창 (Guhl goo nae wang gob chang) in Itaewon. I mentioned this spot a while back in another post, but I realized this place deserves an entry of it's own! I have had samgyupsal (pork belly) one too many times in Seoul, but this place will just blow you away...and the Korean style ribs with their special sauce is monumental. I'm still trying to figure out the chemistry behind the masterpiece!

This place was discovered by my former co-workers, who were so kind enough to take me here, hahahaha. Thus, the love affair began...

Surprisingly, a lot of ex-pats do not know about this place. Which is why I'm sharing with you all! So the word is out. Secret exposed. Then again, this place was featured on T.V. here in Seoul, but mainly driven by folks in the food industry and locals. Each guest I bring, they leave fully satisfied, and claim that they cannot have samgyupsal at other places again. Needless to say, y'all just have to check it out yourselves!!! This meal will transform you...

Best way to navigate thru the menu: You start with 삼겹살 (samgyupsal, pork belly), then onto the 등갈비 (ribs, you can order mild or spicy), then finish off with their infamous pork skin (pumps up the collagen, so ladies love this)! If you still have room for more, you can order the noodles or fried rice. I tried my first pork skins here, and let me tell you...it's something else!

From the subway:Itaewon line 6, exit 4-take an immediate left, and the first side street take a right. From the main street, it's behind the Baskin Robbins/Nes Cafe (must wrap around that building around the corner).

They char grill the samgyupsal prior to bringing it to the table, then you finish it off!

For those who have never tried pork skin, this is the place to try it! The skin is known to boost collagen, and the owner claims this is the secret to how he stays looking super young! Therefore, the skin is an absolute must when you come here. No question. Note-skins taste best when extra crispy :)
